Rugged Heritage
Set along the shores of Lake Sawyer, this transformation reimagines an inherited 1980s home as a refined modern retreat while honoring its history, setting, and generations of family connection.
Inspired by the homeowner’s family roots in Black Diamond’s coal-mining history, the design layers charcoal tones, natural textures, and meaningful heirlooms with clean architectural lines and contemporary materials. Opening the main level strengthened the connection between the kitchen, living spaces, and lake beyond, while new beams, custom cabinetry, and large-format porcelain brought modern definition to the home’s original character.
Personal details tell the story throughout—from Pendleton-inspired patterns and family artifacts to Mount Rainier topographic tile in the primary bath. Thoughtful functionality is equally integrated, with a walk-in closet and laundry suite, lakefront entertainment spaces, and custom features designed for everyday living.
The result balances rugged Pacific Northwest character with modern precision—a home where heritage, landscape, and personal expression come together through Architecture Amplified.
